The National Transportation Safety Board is now investigating Tuesday's Metro crash that killed two workers north of the Rockville station. Maryland Congresswoman Donna Edwards hopes the findings will lead to new safety laws.

"There's a lot of investigation that needs to be done to make certain that we're providing the kind of work environment for our transportation workers that ensures their safety and also guarantees the safety and the safe traveling of the consuming public," says Edwards.

Congress has held several hearings on the safety of the Metro since the crash last June that killed 9 people. The NTSB is already conducting investigations into that accident and a November crash in West Falls Church, Virginia.

Last month, the Obama administration asked Congress to give the Federal Transit Administration authority to impose safety standards on city subways.
