WASHINGTON (AP) Pepco has opened two electric vehicle charging stations in Washington. Pepco chief Joseph Rigby watched as a plug-in electric car was recharged at one of the stations the first of 10 that will be used to study the effect of car charging on area power grids.

WASHINGTON (AP) Fedex is going to speed a couple of popular pandas back to China after their time on display at U.S. zoos. A young giant panda from Washington's National Zoo will join another from Zoo Atlanta on the flight back home Feb. 4. Both animals are property of China.

WASHINGTON (AP) Please, no more photographs of the Declaration of Independence. Starting Feb. 24, the National Archives says it will ban tourists from taking photos of prized historical documents, hoping to better protect them from tens of thousands of camera flashes each year.
