BALTIMORE (AP) Doctors aboard the USNS Comfort have begun treating their first patients injured in last week's earthquake in Haiti. The nearly 900-foot floating hospital is expected to arrive near Port-au-Prince by mid-morning, but the ship was close enough last night to take aboard its first patients.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) A new poll shows Gov. O'Malley leading former Republican Gov. Robert Ehrlich in a rematch by 9 percentage points. The poll released today by Gonzales Research + Marketing Strategies found O'Malley, a Democrat, had 46 percent of support compared to 39 percent for Ehrlich, with 13 percent undecided. Ehrlich has not said whether he plans to run again.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) The Board of Public Works will vote on a lease agreement to move plans forward for the National Sailing Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Annapolis. The board will decide whether to lease state property for the development of the museum.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) Maryland residents would be required to send human remains to cemeteries, family burial plots, crematories or funeral establishments, under a proposed bill. State lawmakers hold a hearing today on the proposal by Delegate Theodore Sophocleus, a Democrat from Anne Arundel.
