ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) Gov. O'Malley has scheduled a news conference today to discuss the budget he is submitting to the Legislature. O'Malley will talk about the budget one day before the release of Maryland's $12.7 billion fiscal year 2011 budget. Maryland faces a $2 billion budget deficit.

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) Sentencing for a young Bethesda man accused of plotting to kill President Barack Obama is expected to resume this morning. Twenty-year-old Collin McKenzie-Gude pleaded guilty in September to possessing bomb-making chemicals. His former friend, a key government witness, testified last week that McKenzie-Gude disliked Obama's views on gun control.

ELKTON, Md. (AP) A North East man accused of bludgeoning his father to death has been committed to a maximum-security psychiatric hospital. Thirty-three-year-old Eugene Pritchard Jr. entered a "not criminally responsible" plea to second-degree murder in the death of his 69-year-old father, Eugene Pritchard Sr., in 2007.
