Martin Luther King Jr's Day Of Service

Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday is a day to honor and to serve. A citywide kickoff begins at 10 a.m. this morning at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, 901 G St. NW. More than 200 volunteer opportunities will be available in the District.

Meantime, tonight President Obama will be joining the lineup for the Kennedy Center's annual King celebration. Tickets for the 6 p.m. event are free. They will be handed out two per person beginning today at 10 a.m. at the Kennedy Center's Concert Hall.
