Metro Area Red Cross Helps Out In Haiti

The National Capital Region's Red Cross is sending supplies and personnel to help the relief effort in Haiti.

The Red Cross says volunteers are needed, but they require specialized training, so the best way to contribute is by giving cash.

There are several ways to contribute to the Red Cross:

Through the Red Cross website, by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, or by texting "HAITI" to 90999 which will send a $10 donation to the Red Cross. All proceeds go to relief efforts in Haiti.
