Maryland Organization Pushes 2010 Agenda

An activist group is calling on Maryland's lawmakers to encourage transit-oriented development and for storm water management fees.

Environment Maryland released its environmental agenda on Wednesday. The group also says lawmakers should fully fund the Chesapeake Bay 2010 Trust Fund. It provides incentives for reducing bay pollution, and requires farmers and lawn care companies to report how much fertilizer and insecticide they use.

The organization also plans to release a report today showing how much pollution would be reduced from a transit-heavy approach to development.
