VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) A Virginia Beach-based search and rescue squad is deploying to Haiti to help search for survivors of this week's earthquake. A spokesman for the Virginia Beach Fire Department 83 members of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Virginia Task Force 2 were scheduled to leave this morning. They are expected to be in Haiti for seven to 10 days.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson says Haiti has been "cursed" because of what he called a "pact with the devil" in its history. His spokesman said the comments made yesterday are based on Voodoo rituals carried out before a slave rebellion against French colonists in 1791.
