As he prepares for his inauguration this weekend, Governor-elect Bob McDonnell is making stops across Virginia.
His only stop in northern Virginia was at a homeless shelter in Alexandria known as the Carpenter's Shelter.
City leaders say the the demand for services to homeless families has grown since the economic downturn. But the state is cash-strapped, and McDonnell wouldn't commit to more funding for the homeless after he is sworn in on Saturday.
