Glenn Ivey, the state's attorney in Prince George's County, says he's decided not to challenge incumbent Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) for her seat in Maryland's 4th District.
Ivey says he's decided against challenging Edwards.
"I began the effort on the campaign and decided I just didn't have the fire or the belly for another election right now," he says.
Instead, Ivey says he wants to return to the private sector when his term as state's attorney ends this year. And he's temporarily ruled out running for another office.
"I will not run for re-election, as country executive, or anything else, not in 2010 anyway," says Ivey.
Ivey has served two terms as state's attorney in Prince George's County. He's previously served as assistant U.S. attorney for D.C. as well.
