WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) Hundreds of people are gathering to pay their last respects to Jean Finnegan Biden at the funeral for Vice President Joe Biden's mother.

Mrs. Biden, 92, died Friday after a brief illness. She had suffered a broken hip in a fall in March 2009.

A crowd of about 700 people gathered in the sanctuary at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Wilmington for a funeral Mass that began shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The guest list includes President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton, and several Cabinet officials and members of Congress.

After arriving in Delaware, the president and first lady met privately with the Biden family before the funeral began.
