Governors Put Wager On Playoff Game

Maryland's Governor Martin O'Malley has agreed to put a friendly wager on Sunday's first-round playoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots.

O'Malley negotiated the wager with Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. If the Ravens beat the Patriots, Patrick will treat O'Malley to New England lobsters. If the Patriots win, O'Malley will offer Maryland Crab Cakes in return.

In a statement, O'Malley boasts that he looks forward to "the lobsters that Governor Patrick will be sending our way."

O'Malley has been gearing up for the game all week. On Wednesday he huddled with players at a team practice, a playoff tradition of O'Malley's since he was Baltimore's mayor.

O'Malley also ordered that the State House dome be lit in Raven's purple Friday and Saturday nights in honor of the team.
