
Sen. Babara Mikulski (D-Md.) is stepping up her criticism of Metro. Mikulski says the transit agency needs stronger oversight, feeling Metro isn't taking safety seriously enough in the wake of last June's red line crash that killed nine people.
Mikulski sent a letter to Metro this week seeking answers. It came as a new report showed an independent safety team inspecting tracks was nearly hit by a speeding Metro train last month.
