
Violent crime may been down in the Maryland suburbs, but authorities there say gangs are still a major problem. Montgomery and Prince Georges counties will start a joint gang task force that will focus on intervention and prevention efforts in schools. The need for the initiative is clear according to Montgomery County state's attorney John McCarthy, who says one of the most heinous gang murders in his county started in Prince Georges County.
