HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) Federal funds secured by three Maryland members of Congress will help launch a joint gang initiative in two counties. The $2.7 million will help Prince George's and Montgomery counties fund a program to prevent and suppress gang activity and prevent young people from taking part in gang activity.

MIDDLE RIVER, Md. (AP) Amtrak says it expects a normal rush hour after a fatal accident near Baltimore caused delays along the Northeast corridor for much of the day. Amtrak says delays continued for several hours after this morning's accident, and some midday trains were canceled. Maryland's commuter train service was also affected.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) Maryland reserve forward Jin Soo Choi intends to leave the school and pursue a basketball career in his native Korea. Choi, a sophomore, was the first South Korean to earn a men's basketball scholarship at the Division One level.
