The National Park Service is circulating a draft plan to restore the National Mall. The 600-page document offers several options to improve the mall's restrooms, food and entertainment facilities, as well as the surrounding landscape.
Some proposals call for removing or shrinking the reflecting pool to create a civic square for demonstrations. Park service officials say they plan to solicit feedback on the plan until March.
