Today Washington lost longtime sportscaster George Michael. He died of cancer at the age of 70. Michael came to Washington in 1980 to be a sports reporter for the NBC's WRC-TV. For more than 2 decades, he hosted "The George Michael Sports Machine," the first nationally syndicated sports highlight show.
