Some gas station operators in Frederick, Maryland are blaming the weekend snow storm for shortages at the pump. At least two of the city's gas stations ran out of fuel Monday. And the Frederick News-Post reports that one of them ran short again Tuesday after a Monday delivery was depleted.

One station manager says fuel trucks couldn't make deliveries due to the weather. Michael Fox, a spokesman for the Gasoline and Automotive Service Dealers Association, says the shortages reflect a combination of factors. He says when wholesale fuel prices are falling, dealers tend to keep inventories low. Fox says any supply disruption or panic buying by consumers can lead to shortages at the pump.
