VDOT Says Most, But Not All, Streets Plowed Once

By Marcus Rosenbaum

The Virginia Department of Transportation, VDOT, reports that most "but not all" subdivision streets have now been plowed at least once, but that it may be tomorrow before every street has been serviced.

VDOT is responsible for plowing Prince William, Loudoun and Fairfax Counties, and Jennie McCord, a spokeswoman for the agency, says only some subdivision streets in Fairfax have yet to be touched. She says all streets in Prince William and Loudoun Counties have had at least one pass with a plow.

McCord warns that "one pass doesn't mean bare pavement," but it does mean you should be able to get your car out of your neighborhood. McCord says residents of those counties whose streets have not been touched should call VDOT at 703-383-VDOT, or 703-383-8368.

McCord says crews will be out through today and tonight as well, and that they'll be pre-treating streets for Thursday night, when a wintry mix is in the forecast.
