D.C. Federal Agencies Close Due To Storm

Add all federal agencies to the list of closings and cancellations due to the storm...but, there are conditions.

Non-emergency employees will be granted excused absences, while employees who telecommute may be expected to work from home. Emergency employees are considered exempt and are expected to report.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management made the announcement telling. The Washington Post this decision was made for safety reasons.

The office reported earlier this month that the government loses about $100 million dollars in productivity and opportunity costs every time it closes its D.C.-area offices.
