A student is in custody after he reportedly entered a building on the Northern Virginia Community College's Woodbridge campus with a gun.

Prince William County Police say they were notified at around 2:40 this afternoon that an armed student had entered the Main Administrative Building on the campus. They say it was what they call an "active shooter" situation, and that the college implemented emergency lockdown procedures.

It was not immediately clear whether any shots were fired. They say no injuries have been reported. County police have taken one adult male into custody. Tactical teams are conducting a safety sweep.

All Community College classes in Woodbridge are cancelled tonight, including classes being held at Freedom High School.
