By Natalie Neumann

Drivers can expect some delays this weekend on parts of the Capital Beltway. Construction crews will be working on the Beltway widening initiative, and that will lead to some closed lanes and ramps.

Starting after rush hour today, crews will close on-ramps to the inner loop from northbound and southbound Telegraph Road. The right-most lane of the inner loop will also be closed just west of Telegraph Road, with the center and left lanes remaining open.

On Saturday morning, traffic will be fully diverted to the right onto two new inner loop lanes. At that time, exit 174 from the inner loop to the Eisenhower Connector will reopen. Saturday night, a third new inner loop lane will open, allowing for a full three lanes of traffic on the new inner loop roadway. The onramps from Telegraph Road also will be reopened.
