RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Virginia's unemployment rate keeps getting better. The Virginia Employment Commission reports the seasonally unadjusted rate fell from 6.5 percent in September to 6.3 percent in October, the lowest rate so far in 2009.

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) Virginia biologists are tracking bats living in three caves where a deadly disease was confirmed to see how the creatures fare over the winter. Officials say the agency has banded about 1,000 bats from Breathing Cave in Bath County, Clover Hollow Cave in Giles County and Newberry Cave in Bland County.
