Washington's Newseum is offering visitors the chance to step into the office of the late TV newsman Tim Russert, NBC's Washington bureau chief and the popular and respected host of "Meet the Press."
Russert died of a heart attack in June 2008 at age 58. Now the journalism museum in downtown D.C., the Newseum, has reassembled Russert's office for visitors. Curators say it offers a window into the world of a broadcast journalist at the top of his game. To illustrate the preparation that went into each show, Russert's desk is covered with research material, books, and handwritten notes. The office also contains family photos and memorabilia from Russert's beloved Buffalo Bills football team.
