
The spiritual leader of the world's Orthodox Christians will be making a stop in the area soon.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I arrived in New Orleans this week to preside over the 8th Religion, Science and the Environment Symposium. This coming week, he'll celebrate the 10th anniversary of the enthronement of Archbishop Demetrios of America in New York.
The patriarch will mark his 18th year in his role as ecumenical patriarch in a service at Sts. Constantine and Helen Church in Annapolis on November 2nd. Bartholomew I is also scheduled to meet with Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton while he is in Washington.
