Councilman Jim Graham says he is giving up oversight over the city's taxicab commission.

As the FBI continues to investigate the District's taxicab industry, D.C. Councilman Jim Graham says he is giving up oversight over the city's taxicab commission. In a letter to Council Chair Vincent Gray, Graham says he is stepping aside to make sure taxicab oversight continues without any distractions relating to the Ted Loza indictment.

Graham's top aide was arrested last month and charged with accepting cash payments and other gifts to promote taxicab legislation. Loza was offered a plea deal by prosecutors last week.

Graham has not been charged with any wrong doing and says he is not the target of any wrong doing. Oversight over the taxi cab commission will transferred to the D.C. Council's Committee of the Whole.
