WASHINGTON (AP) A total of 37 miles of biking with no car traffic is planned on the routes created for this year's Bike D.C.

The routes are available from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday in the District, parts of Virginia and on the George Washington Parkway. A 12-mile family route is planned along with a more challenging 25-mile route.

Streets will be closed during those hours so visitors and citizens can see the Capitol, monuments, military memorials and other famous sights in D.C.

Bike D.C. participants can take their bikes on Metrorail but only four bikes are allowed in each train car. All riders must wear helmets and children under 15 are free this year.
