The District has named its new chief technology officer. Bryan Sivak has been tapped by Mayor Fenty to take over a city agency that was rocked by a kickback scandal earlier this year. The 34-year-old previously worked for Inquira and Electric Knowledge two California technology companies that specialize in IT solutions and web searches. Sivak says he hopes to bring those skills to the office of the chief technology officer or OCTO.
The previous head of OCTO, Vivek Kundra, left in March to become the top technology official for the Obama Administration. Sivak will have to be confirmed by the D.C. Council.
