Washington's Metro system has experienced more than a dozen accident-related deaths and several suicides in recent months. As commentator Jackie Jeter notes, those numbers do not include the loss of life prior to the June 22nd red line crash.

Jeter is president of Local 689 of the Amalgamated Transit Union.
