Thousands of gay rights advocates are expected to march on the National Mall tomorrow to pressure Congress to pass what some call equal rights for all.
The march caps the end of an eventful weekend for gay rights advocates. President Obama speaks at the Human Rights Campaign’s annual dinner tonight.
Organizer Ilona Kadar says the federal government is moving slower than she'd like, but D.C. could set an example for the rest of the country.
"It’s going to be a good year, definitely. Things are looking up," said Kadar. "Now’s the time. People are taking action and as a result we’ll take huge strides."
Advocates have a list of federal laws they'd like repealed, including the Defense of Marriage Act and the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy.
