Immigration Reform Town Hall Meeting in VA

Play associated audio

The issue of immigration reform was the subject of a town hall meeting in Virginia. The most passionate voice heard at this town hall in Falls Church belonged to Representative Jim Moran. "They come here and they are Americans, and it doesn't matter what they look like or believe, cause the are Americans."

Moran spoke to approximately 300 area residents mostly Hispanic or Latino. All seemed eager to hear what the Congressman had to say about proposed legislation for comprehensive immigration reform, including Vanessa Mansia. "It was very encouraging to hear those words that would encourage my life."

To address issues faced by some 12-million undocumented immigrants in the U.S. Moran says he'll work with Illinois congressman Luis Gutierrez who plans to introduce a comprehensive immigrations reform bill by years end.
