(Through January 3, 2010) BIG! For its 75th anniversary, the National Archives on the National Mall presents BIG!, an exhibit featuring big records, big events and big ideas, with free noon-time lectures tomorrow and on September 26th. At a time when many of us struggle to see documents and images on smaller and smaller screens, the Archive unfurls the 13-foot scroll of the Articles of Confederation, sets out the size 22 sneakers of basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal, and lays out pieces of the American story-typed in large print. The exhibit itself will be on display through January 3rd. All programs will be held at the National Archives Building. Attendees should use the Special Events entrance on the corner of 7th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW.

(Sept 18-Oct 10) A WOMAN'S MEASURE Taffety Punk Theatre Company stages an all-female Measure for Measure opening Friday at the [Capitol Hill Arts Workshop] near Eastern Market(http://www.chaw.org/). Shakespeare's comedy gets a full dose of estrogen in one of the Bard's most sexually-charged and morally-shadowy plays, as the edicts of a strict judge wind up hitting him - or in this case, her - right in the moral high ground.

(September 16) PEERING INTO THE STORM The Library of Congress in D.C. presents Peering Into the Storm: NASA's Exploration of Hurricanes during a discussion with meteorologist Scott Braun tomorrow morning at 11:30 in the James Madison Building. Braun, a scientist with NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, studies hurricanes from the inside out and shares his firsthand expertise.
