Arlington County Board Files Lawsuit Over HOT Lanes

The Arlington County Board has filed a lawsuit challenging the federal government's failure to conduct an environmental impact statement on what are known as HOT lanes. The acronym stands for High Occupancy Toll Lanes and refers to a proposal that would allow private companies to construct and maintain lanes on I-395.

Earlier this week the Virginia Department of Transportation announced that the project had been suspended indefinitely, because the company was having a hard time raising capital.
