Dylan Thomas' legendary poem is recorded by some of Washington's most recognizable actors and has been adapted as a radio theatre performance to benefit the N Street Village shelter.

Broken Water Main Turns River Road Into A River

December 23, 2008 - A broken water main in Bethesda, Maryland, literally turned River Road into a river this morning. Rescuers had to pull out more than a dozen people who were stranded in their vehicles when the line burst.

Once that was done and everyone was confirmed safe, the focus shifted to the bizarre sight of a major commuter road looking like a whitewater rapids run. Even the rescuers themselves were taken aback once they had to time to reflect.

As the morning wore on, more and more residents from the area walked down to the site, just to see if it was real. Dennis Liu lives further up River Road in Potomac. He saw the first rescue happen live on television.
