It will be visible along the east coast starting at 10 tonight, and will last nearly an hour. A lunar eclipse, unlike its solar counterpart, can be viewed safely with the naked eye. It occurs when the full moon passes into Earth's shadow and is blocked from the sun's rays. Our planet and moon line up leaving the moon dark.

February 20, 2008 - Police in New Carrollton, Maryland seized more than one million dollars worth of marijuana in the trunk of a senior citizen's car. It began as a minor fender bender outside a convenience store. But when police on the scene realized that 72-year-old Rodell Cole was driving without a license - and prepared to impound his car - Cole asked an officer if he could remove some stuff from the back. And that's when police found eight 20-pound bags of marijuana. New Carrollton Police Chief David Rice says that New Carrollton, which is just off of I-295, has become popular with drug runners on the east coast. Coles, a resident of New York City, told police he was headed to North Carolina. He faces a host of state and federal drug charges.
