October 16, 2007 - (Oct 17) In the belief that "all the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players," The Folger Shakespeare Theater is opening its fall run of "As You Like It" in a week of preview performances. The full run begins October 25th with pre-show tours on Wednesday nights of the exhibition "Makerting Shakespeare" beginning at 6:30 p.m.

(Oct 17) Tomorrow is the 14th Annual "Funniest Celebrity Contest." Held at the D.C. Improv, this year's competition will benefit DC public school music programs. Funds raised from the show will provide a percussion troupe, professionals to work with students and an internship program. Good luck - with contestants including Senator Arlen Specter, writers from the Washington Post and the President of Americans for Tax Reform, it should be a hilarious night.

(Oct 19) This Friday night Glen Echo Park`s Spanish Ballroom will be swinging to The Boilermaker Jazz Band's authentic American hot jazz and swing. With dance lessons at 8 p.m. swingers of any skill (and grace!) level can join in. The band starts playing at 9 p.m.
