Community Minute: Helping men and women experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives
Friendship Place is a nonprofit organization working to empower men and women experiencing homelessness in the D.C. metro area to rebuild their lives with the help of the community. Through innovative leadership and community engagement, Friendship Place provides programs for those experiencing homelessness, including street outreach, shelter, transitional and permanent supportive housing, health care, job placement, and advocacy. The organization’s recently launched Veterans First program serves homeless and at-risk veterans and their families.
