88.3 Ocean City: Emergency food assistance for residents of Maryland's Eastern Shore

The Maryland Food Bank addresses the growing needs of people seeking emergency food assistance in Maryland. Maryland Food Bank - Eastern Shore services eight Eastern Shore counties: Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico and Worcester. Maryland Food Bank Eastern Shore serves more than 143 network partners, providing food for more than 26,000 individuals each month throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland. These organizations feed and distribute food to homeless, unemployed, and low-income people, as well as individuals, children, and families in crisis situations. In 2012, the Maryland Food Bank distributed more than 3.38 million pounds of food on the Eastern Shore.
