88.3 Ocean City: Help for Delmarva residents in search of scholarship funds

The Delmarva Education Foundation (DEF) is a nonprofit organization in Salisbury, Md., working to improve college access and success for residents on the lower Delmarva Peninsula. Through its College Access Program, the organization collaborates with guidance counselors, businesses, and other scholarship sponsors to provide an online, searchable database of local scholarship opportunities and financial aid information, free of charge to area residents. DEF also hosts an annual scholarship fair for those seeking scholarship money. For students of all ages who are looking for education beyond high school, DEF’s advisors are available over the phone or at the office to answer questions and help with navigating the process.DEF also provides a forum for developing and sharing new ideas and best practices, convening principals, guidance counselors, financial aid officers, and others to discuss ways to improve educational access.
