Play associated audio

Men Can Stop Rape is a nonprofit organization which works to mobilize men to use their strength to create cultures free of violence, especially men’s violence against women.

Men Can Stop Rape’s youth development programs are the cornerstone of the organization’s work. Its Men of Strength Club teaches male teens ages 11-18 healthy dating relationship skills and encourages them to show their “strength” in positive ways among their peers. The curriculum has been replicated and implemented in schools throughout the District of Columbia, California, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, New York City, North Carolina, Ohio, and South Carolina. MSCR’s Campus Men of Strength Club engages college men in preventing violence against women, giving participants the tools to model healthy masculinity, conduct peer education, and partner with campus and community groups to help raise awareness. The club has eight chapters in colleges in Washington, D.C., as well as Florida, Hawaii, New York, North Carolina. The organization also creates and distributes public awareness materials targeted to male students in middle and high school and college, and for state and federal agencies. Additionally, MSCR offers training and technical assistance to professionals at rape crisis centers, women’s shelters, state coalitions, the military, and other community-based organizations and institutions.
