College Bound offers academic enrichment and resources to help public and public charter school students in grades 8-12 prepare for and succeed in college. College Bound’s Academic Mentoring Program matches students with college-educated volunteers to strengthen the students’ math, language arts, and social skills while preparing them for the college journey. Students meet with mentors at an academic mentoring site throughout the school year to work on homework, literacy and numeric development, and college prep. The organization also offers a virtual mentoring program to help students and mentors maintain their connection when students go away to college. Additionally, College Bound provides a weekend retreat where students learn how to prepare for the college admissions process. The organization also offers SAT and ACT preparation courses, and provides scholarships to selected students annually.
