2009-2010 Season

The 2009-2010 Eclipse Chamber Orchestra season kicks off on Sunday, November 8 with a program featuring Wagner, Stravinsky, and Strauss. This season, Eclipse will present three subscription concerts in Alexandria at the George Washington Masonic Memorial as well as two Brandenburg Festival concerts in Washington at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church. The Season Opening Concert will take place on November 8, 2009 at 3:00 PM and music Director Sylvia Alimena will lead the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra in a concert dedicated to the memory of longtime ECO supporter Keith B. Moore. Eclipse Chamber Orchestra's annual Brandenburg Festival this year features Brandenburg Concertos 2, 3, 4, and 6 as well as Bach concertos and chamber works featuring ECO soloists. Conducted by Sylvia Alimena, the concerts take place at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Washington, DC on Friday, November 20th and Sunday, November 22nd at 7:30 pm. Also, Eclipse Chamber Orchestra is pleased to announce the release of its first recording with Naxos, the leading classical music label in the world. The new CD features ten opera overtures by the 18th-century Bohemian composer Florian Gassmann. Sylvia Alimena leads the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra in performances recorded at the George Washington Masonic Memorial in Alexandria. CDs will be available at the season opening concert on November 8.
