Matt McCleskey

Local Host, Morning Edition

McCleskey joined the WAMU staff in 2004 and moved to the morning shift in 2008. For many WAMU listeners, Matt's voice is the first thing they hear each day.

McCleskey also has worked as a producer and reporter at KQED-FM in San Francisco and as an assistant producer at NPR's Newscast Unit in Washington. He has been a freelance producer and reporter for many other public radio projects and programs, including PRI's the World and Soundprint. He enjoys working with sound in many formats. He's a musician and producer of original music, and has enjoyed helping with sound design for several very far off-Broadway theater productions.

McCleskey holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University and a master's degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley. He lives in Washington, D.C.
