Three-Minute Fiction: Closing In On A Winner

One character must come to town and one character must leave town — that's the challenge that more than 3,400 people took up to write original stories for this round of our Three Minute Fiction contest. Our judge is Danielle Evans, author of the short story collection "Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self," and in a few weeks, she'll pick a winner. Evans sits down with weekends on All Things Considered host Guy Raz to share a few stories that turned her head so far. You can read full versions of these and other entries at npr.org/threeminutefiction.
