Stephanie Kaye reports for and produces the weekly Washington, D.C., region news and arts radio magazine, Metro Connection, reads station identification and promos on-air, and broadcasts local news on Fridays.
Stephanie grew up in small town Alaska under the midnight sun and attended four universities before graduating from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. She shipped off to Africa for two tours of duty with the Peace Corps in Ethiopia and Morocco, teaching English and developing AIDS presentations with local theatre groups. Upon returning to the States, she missed listening to the quality short-wave radio in Africa so much that she began volunteering at WAMU 88.5. Some of the engineers let her get on the air, and she hasn't wanted to get off the microphone since.
