Anne Healy joined the staff of WAMU 88.5 in August 1990. She was already an avid listener and a supporter of the station when she saw an intriguing advertisement in The Washington Post for the position of assistant to WAMU 88.5's General Manager and decided to apply. She has never regretted that decision and has been proud to be part of the station as it has experienced tremendous growth over the past 14 years.

Anthony Washington has always had a love for music, good conversation, and helping people. A volunteer for life, Anthony spends much of his free time assisting in the community with the American Red Cross Disaster Assistance Team, Special Olympics, and the Baltimore Ravens.

Bill Redlin is WAMU 88.5's local host of Morning Edition, a post he has held since 1985. Each morning he rises at 3:00 a.m. in order to travel from his home in Reston, Virginia to WAMU 88.5's studios for his 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. shift.

Caryn G. Mathes assumed the post of General Manager for WAMU 88.5 on March 1, 2005. Since she began her tenure at WAMU 88.5, the station has seen tremendous growth and progress. WAMU 88.5 ranks third among the nation's public radio stations for total listening.

David Furst

Producer David Furst has been with WAMU 88.5 since 1997. He began as a reporter, working on local segments for Morning Edition and producing news pieces for Metro Connection, WAMU 88.5 's local news magazine. Now he is the host and producer of Metro Connection, which airs at 1 p.m. Fridays.

Deborah Bolling brings a varied background in journalism, film and television production to her post at WAMU 88.5.

Diane Rehm

Diane Rehm

Diane Rehm is a native Washingtonian who began her radio career in 1973 as an assistant producer for talk shows at WAMU 88.5. She became host and producer of two health-oriented programs, and in 1979 was selected to host WAMU 88.5's local morning talk show, Kaleidoscope, which was renamed The Diane Rehm Show in 1984.

Dorie Anisman moved to Washington, D.C., to work at the Center for Applied Linguistics, after teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) and running a writing lab. After becoming a parent and wife, she again taught some ESOL and also sold Discovery Toys. It was during that time that she discovered WAMU 88.5.

Ed Walker

Ed Walker is the host of WAMU 88.5's longest-running program, The Big Broadcast. The show features a collection of vintage radio programs from the 1930s, '40s, and '50s, including Gunsmoke, The Jack Benny Show, The Lone Ranger, Suspense, Fibber McGee and Molly and Superman. The Big Broadcast airs Sunday from 7 until 11 p.m. and has been a weekly feature on WAMU 88.5 since 1964.

Fred Fiske is Senior Commentator at WAMU 88.5 and a 50-year veteran of Washington, D.C., area radio. He can be heard every week on WAMU 88.5's news magazine, Metro Connection, which airs on Fridays at 1 p.m.

Jen's passion in life is music of all kinds. She's been singing in choirs since the age of four. At Rice University in Houston, she learned to sing opera and studied classical composition, but since she was in Texas, she balanced school work with performing in a folk duo: playing guitar and singing.

Jessica Golloher joined WAMU 88.5 in June 2006 as producer for the station’s local broadcast of Morning Edition and a reporter in WAMU 88.5's newsroom.

Jim Asendio joined WAMU 88.5 as news director in July of 2006. Prior to joining our news team, Jim served as news director at WLIU/WCWP on Long Island, KFBK in Sacramento and WIND in Chicago. He has also anchored or reported for the CBS Radio Network, KDKA in Pittsburgh, 1010WINS and WCBS Newsradio880 in New York City and KFWB in Los Angeles.

Joelle Costello began her public broadcasting career at WNED-TV-AM-FM in her hometown of Buffalo, N.Y. Then it was on to Cleveland, Ohio, and public radio station WCPN-FM.

John Holt

John Holt

John Holt has 34 years experience in the broadcast industry and is the director of engineering and operations at WAMU 88.5. Previously, he was director of engineering for Jefferson Public Radio, serving southern Oregon and northern California with nine stations and 35 translators.

Kojo Nnamdi is host of The Kojo Nnamdi Show, a live talk show produced by WAMU 88.5 that airs weekdays at noon. On Fridays at noon, Nnamdi hosts The Politics Hour on WAMU 88.5. Nnamdi is also seen on WHUT-TV at 8:00 p.m., Fridays and at 7:30 p.m., Sundays, as the host of Evening Exchange with Kojo.

Mark McDonald studied to be an economist and accountant, but began his career as the morning newscaster on a commercial radio station in Liverpool, England, 23 years ago. It was quite a shock to his mom and dad - only news and The Beatles mattered at the station.
