
WAMU’s Bluegrass Country announced today that Katy Daley, host of The Katy Daley Show, has been named Bluegrass Broadcaster of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). The win is the second for Daley, who has been nominated for the award four times and received the honor in 2009.
Daley began her broadcasting career on WAMU 88.5 in 1972 as a volunteer with Gary Henderson’s Saturday morning bluegrass show and quickly moved to the role of producer. She has hosted The Katy Daley Show on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country since 2006.
The award was presented today at the 22nd Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards in Nashville, Tenn.
