(Oct. 6-Jan. 6) Per Kirkeby

Per Kirkeby is one of Europe's most celebrated living artists, and something of a Renaissance man. The Dane is an accomplished painter, sculptor, filmmaker, writer, and - at times - geologist. The Phillips Collection in Northwest opens the most comprehensive exhibition of his work in the U.S. to date tomorrow. Twenty-six richly layered paintings and 11 striking bronze models are displayed through early January.

(Oct. 5-6) Celebrating with Sun Boxes

You can walk through the installation today at Artisphere's Freedom Park or tomorrow at Central Space across from the Rosslyn Metro.
