The WAMU Community Council is WAMU 88.5's community advisory board, as defined by the Public Broadcasting amendments of 1981. The purpose of the Community Council is to represent the interests of the listening public in regular meetings with the staff and management of WAMU 88.5.

WAMU 88.5’s The Big Fix teams listeners with policy experts to debate solutions to big problems

WAMU 88.5 today announced the debut of The Big Fix, a program that allows citizens to propose innovative ideas to solve the nation’s biggest problems. Hosted by Al Lewis, The Big Fix will air in five pilot programs at 4 p.m., ET, on Saturdays, beginning Dec. 15.

WAMU’s Bluegrass Country marks 45 years of music with BGC Live at Forty-Five

WAMU’s Bluegrass Country presents BGC Live at Forty-Five, a bluegrass concert featuring The Del McCoury Band and The Gibson Brothers. The concert will take place at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at The George Washington Lisner Auditorium (730 21st St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20052). Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
